Black Hazel Native Branch Flute in A 440Hz
This flute is carved with hand tools from Hazel wood that I foraged from a storm felled tree in my local woodland. Tuned to the key of A 440Hz It has a warm, clear and responsive voice with balanced back pressure and a stable fundamental note
Embellished with the Celtic tree Ogham for Hazel in honour of the tree who's bones were carved to make the instrument. Finished with a natural dark stain that protects the wood and emphasises the knife finished surface which tells the tale of it's creation. Coated in a layer of cured Linseed oil to further keep the wood healthy and water resistant.
The block is carved from up-cycled teak furniture and tied on with faux-suede adorned with willow wood beads.
