Hazel Native Branch Flute in G 432Hz
This flute is carved with hand tools from Hazel wood that I foraged from a storm felled tree in my local woodland. Tuned to the key of G (to 432Hz A) It has a clear and responsive voice with balanced back pressure and a stable fundamental note
The bark has been removed to reveal the bone white wood beneath, embellished with pyrography depicting a sun, moon and the Ogham for Hazel in honour of the tree who's bones were carved to make the instrument. Finished in a coat of natural polymerising oil made from beeswax and linseed creating a soft sheen that protects the wood without compromising the organic feel of the branch.
The block is carved from up-cycled teak furniture and tied on with faux-suede adorned with willow wood beads.
