Coll Sgìth - Hazel Branch Flute in C#

Hand carved with traditional tools from the bones of a Hazel (Coll) tree foraged from my local woodlands. This flute is tuned to the Key of C# (to 432Hz A) she sings with a playful and soothing timbre, balanced back pressure and a stable fundamental note.

The block, tied on with leather, is carved from up-cycled hardwood mounted atop of an end grain Pine foot which wicks away moisture when you play through capillary action. This means that the flute will play for much longer periods of time before 'wetting out' from moisture blocking the windway.

This flute has been coated in multiple layers of a cured natural oil varnish to protect the wood whilst retaining the organic feel of the branch.
