Rhododendron Branch Flute in F# 432Hz
Hand carved from a branch of Rhododendron wood foraged from my local woodlands here in Devon. This flute is tuned to the Key of F# (to 432Hz A) singing with a deep, soft and woody, lulling voice. With balanced back pressure and a stable fundamental note this flute is a joy to play for beginners or advanced players.

The block is carved from Oak sat atop a 'foot' of Iroko with the grain oriented facing down. The porous grain acts like a straw which absorbs the moisture when you play via capillary action. This means that the flute will play for much longer periods of time before 'wetting out' (moisture blocking the windway) compared to other Native-Style flutes.
Coated in 3 layers of a natural, oil based varnish to waterproof and protect the wood whilst retaining the natural feel of the branch. The inside of the S.A.C. (Slow Air Chamber) is charred and oiled to further protect this instrument from mould and moisture build up.
